roune childishly cuddles against her and nuzzles his head against her thighs, smiling in his sleep at the images of his dreams and the feeling of having her so close and having so much contact. it's far more contact then he's had with anyone else in years and every second of it is precious to him on various levels

Ember yawns hugely, staving off sleep as she sings for him. When he gets up, then I'll sleep. Not a moment before then. As long as she could stay awake she'd do her best to comfort him as much as possible.

roune holds onto her tightly as he sleeps. this sleep is very peaceful and he owes it all to her. ember helped to wake him from his nightmare, she comforted and calmed him down afterwards, then she helped him fall back asleep, and she finally inspired the new pleasent dreams he has of her. shes helping him in waysshe isn't even aware of, and he'd treasure it properly if he wasn't deep asleep, and staying that way for the next few hours

Ember struggles to remain awake, slipping off to sleep some hours later. This time she dreams as well, about the same things she'd been thinking about before. The time she and roune had spent together.

roune finally wakes up a littleover an hour after dawn. he lays against her for a while still, loath to move from her but eventually he sits up. feeling bad for her falling asleep while siting up so she could look after him he gently pushes her over so she can lean against him. he pulls his blankets up around her so she's under them with him and he leans down to kiss her forehead lightly as a silent thank you. he watches her with a small happy smile, thinking she looks quite beautiful in sleep

Ember snores a little louder than before when he moves her, but doesn't do anything else. She dreams of him, a small smile resting on her lips as she dreams. She hadn't meant to fall asleep like she had. She'd meant to be awake when he woke, but that didn't happen.

roune's throat feels dry and he has a funny taste in his mouth, probably from whatever he was biting while in the worst parts of his dream. he wants to get a drink but he can't, there's no way he'll move and wake her up, not after what she did for him. she had seen him going through something he would have rather she hadn't, especially sincet hey're getting closer and more intimate, in a way, then is proper. what their superiours or colleauges would do if they saw this, her sleeping in his office, in his bed, it could get them in trouble, but he can't bring himself to move away from her

Ember wakes slowly, just watching roune with half closed eyes. She's comfortable and happy like this, but still very worried about what she guesses was a nightmare. "Feeling any better roune?" She asks quietly, aware that he probably moved her while she was asleep and might need a drink since he had bit his pillow. She doesn't say anything about the fact that he hit her when he was thrashing around, hoping he doesn't notice.

roune watches her for a while, so wrapped up in his own thoughts that it doesn't register for a few moments that she's even said anything "...humh..oh..yeah. i have nightmares pretty often, that one is one of the most frequent. i wish you hadn't been here for that ember. i hope i didn't say or do anything while i was asleep, nothing i do while thinking about things like that can be any kind of good"
since he's thirsty anyway and it's probably better not to be too close to her right now me slips away from her and off of the bed, then walks to the small fridge at it's goot to get out a small carton of milk and take a long drink from it

Ember only nods and watches him, wishing he'd stayed close to her. Mentally she curses the fact that she's a quick bruiser and she shifts her position in what she hopes is a discrete fashion in an attempt to hide said bruise, unsure on what he'd say if he noticed. It occurs to her that she should get out of his bed now and change the subject, but to what? She has no ideas on what to do next, so she simply watches him and thinks to herself. Maybe she should ask about the nightmare, see if she can make it go

roune sighs and sits down in his chair as he takes another drink from his carton. he suddenly wishes he kept something alchoholic in his office, maybe whiskey or scotch. he pushes one hand up through his hair, brushing it back and generally trying to avoid saying something more to her. he's embaressed and ashamed of what happened last night and he's very uncomfortable about it.
it doesn't seem appropriatte to call it a nightmare when it's just a memory, nothing in it was unreal or imagined, it was exactly what happened years ago when he watched numerous people robbed, beaten, killed, and raped right in front of him. it's troubled him ever since but it's also what drives him to create better weapons of war, to create something that will let him reach his goal of destroying war, so things like that won't happen anymore.
